Principle :

Pyrolysis of soils/sediments/vegetation, separation of pyrolysates by GC, identification and quantification by mass spectrometry 

Objectives :

Characterization of insoluble organic matter by flash pyrolysis or by temperature ramp. 

Samples treated :

Soils, sediments, plants, rocks, peat. 

Pre-treatment :

Drying and grinding of the sample. Pyrolysis assisted by TMAH.

Results :

Chromatograms, mass spectra, abundance of phenols from lignins, acids, sugars.
