Paterson Press

Caracteristics

The “Paterson” press (Australian Scientific Instruments) is an internally Heated Pressure Vessel (T < 1400°C, P < 5000 bar) equipped with 2 deformation modules (coaxial and torsion), a module for measuring permeability and a module for measuring the electrical conductivity of rocks at high temperature and high pressure.

Targets

Rheological studies of magmatic rocks and suspensions, Textural studies, Brittle/Ductile transition, Fault-Fluid-Flux interactions, Magmatic mixtures.
